Thank you for your interest in one of our animals!

  • If the animal is listed on the website, it is still available for adoption.
  • If the animal has a coming soon banner, you are still able to put in an application.
  • If you are interested in an animal, please put in an application first; this in no way commits you to a specific animal.
  • Applications take 24-48 business hours to process. (Excluding weekends if we need to contact your vet)
  • Please do not email us asking about the status of your application as it will only delay our process.
  • Adoption fees vary by animal.

Thank you for your patience and we can’t wait to find you the perfect family member!

Not sure exactly which animal might be the best fit for you? No worries! Just fill out the appropriate application with what you are looking for and after getting you preapproved our adoptions team will be able to give you some guidance on possible matches for you and your family.

Worried that it may not be love at first sight? That’s okay! We want you to feel completely comfortable with this decision as it’s a big one! Filling out an application, or even getting preapproved for adoption, in NO WAY locks you into anything.

So you’ve decided to save a life by adopting! We’re so excited to take this journey with you and introduce a new family member into your life.

When you adopt from WAAL, you become a part of our family forever. In five years if you need help, ask! You’re part of a family now, and we’ve got your back.

Things to keep in mind:

  • We do not have a blanket policy regarding fences; some dogs require them and some do not.
  • All animals (except barn cats) are adopted to indoor-only homes.
  • Cats are not to be declawed after adoption (read more about this policy here- hyperlink).
  • We will always help do introductions with a new dog and any resident dogs currently in your home.
  • All animals (unless medically unable) are sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested (dogs) or feline leukemia tested (cats) before adoption.
  • For their safety, all animals must be returned to WAAL if for any reason the adopter cannot keep them.
  • You must be 18 to adopt.
  • Filling out an application does not obligate you to adopt.
  • Adoption fees vary based on the animal; ask us for more specific information.

We have great adoption kits to help get you and your new furry family member started off on the right paw.
