Thank you for your interest in one of our animals!

  • If the animal is listed on the website, it is still available for adoption.
  • If the animal has a “Coming Soon” banner, you are still able to submit an application.
  • If the animal has an “I’m at Snick’s Cat Cafe” banner, they are available to be visited at Snick’s but still available to put in an application for.
  • If you are interested in an animal, please submit an application first; this in no way commits you to a specific animal.

  • To check the status of your application, please email us at:
  • You can view adoption fees, age, breed, sex, and biography by clicking on the individual animal. (Adoption fees may vary depending on the animal.)

Thank you for your patience and we can’t wait to find you the perfect family member!

Not sure exactly which animal might be the best fit for you?

No worries! Just fill out the appropriate application with what you are looking for, and after approval, our adoptions team will be able to give you some guidance on possible matches for you and your family.

Worried that it may not be love at first sight?

That’s okay! We want you to feel completely comfortable with this decision as it’s an important one! Filling out an application, or even getting preapproved for adoption, in NO WAY locks you into anything. Once approved to apply through WAAL, your application stays valid for 6 months.

So you’ve decided to save a life by adopting!

We’re so excited to take this journey with you and introduce a new family member into your life. When you adopt from WAAL, you become a part of our family forever. In five years if you need help, ask! You’re part of a family now, and we’ve got your back.

Things to keep in mind:

  • We do not have a blanket policy regarding fences; some dogs require them and some do not.
  • All animals are adopted to indoor-only homes.
  • Cats are not to be declawed after adoption (read more about this policy here- hyperlink).
  • We will always help provide appropriate standards and practices to introduce a new family member into your home, whether it be dog-to-dog intros or dog-to-cat intros.
  • All dogs and cats adopted through WAAL come spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age -appropriate), dewormed, and tested for heartworms (dogs aged 6 months or older) or feline leukemia (cats aged 6 months or older).
  • For their safety, all animals must be returned to WAAL if for any reason the adopter cannot keep them.
  • You must be 18 to adopt.
  • Filling out an application does not obligate you to adopt.
  • Adoption fees vary based on the animal; ask us for more specific information.

We have great adoption kits to help get you and your new furry family member started off on the right paw.
