The Wichita Animal Action League is very excited to announce our new program, Pets for Life!

PFL is a program designed to help keep the animals of Planeview in good homes, out of the shelters, and give their owners access to FREE pet resources, when available! We believe that by offering these resources and spreading knowledge on responsible pet ownership, we can help bridge the gap between systemic inequality and equality for all pet related areas. The PFL program focuses on building trust and a relationship with pets and their owners. The love that pets display is something that everyone should experience, if they choose to do so, regardless of their financial situation. This program is currently operating in the Planeview community only and WAAL is also the only rescue in the State of Kansas to offer the PFL program as of yet!

These FREE resources include:

  • Spay and Neuter of Dogs and Cats
  • Microchips
  • Vaccinations
  • Vet Care
  • Pet Food, Supplies, and more!

The Pets for Life Program Manager will also conduct presentations at the Colvin Elementary School in Planeview to help educate on responsible pet ownership to the future generations to come!

WAAL would like to thank the Humane Society of the United States and Chewy for their generous assistance and support with this program!

We would also like to extend our thanks and gratitude to our newly formed local partnerships with the following organizations:

  • Petco Love
  • Colorado Animal Rescue Express (CARE)
  • Guptons House Vet
  • Wichita Pet Wellness
  • Southside Veterinary Clinic
  • Kansas Humane Society
  • Vetco Total Care
  • Emily’s Dog Grooming
  • Blue Skies Pet Care, LLC
  • The Venue (31st and Hillside)

PFL is a 100% donation-based program, and we are in need of the following tax-deductible items:

  • Monetary donations for vet bills
  • Dog/Cat food – dry or wet
  • Dog/Cat collars
  • Large Dog leashes
  • Dog beds
  • Cat trees
  • Medium to XL Igloo doghouses
  • Soft Dog/Cat treats and more!

We are very excited about the possibilities of this new program and the good that it will bring to our community pets! For more information, please contact the PFL Program Manager, Kylee, at 316.361.9341 or by email at [email protected].

WAAL has always been committed to providing proactive solutions to the most common issues plaguing our community, such as pet overpopulation, abandonment, and animal neglect (whether intentional or unintentional). Through PFL, with the assistance of HSUS, WAAL will be able to dramatically impact the quality of life of thousands of pets and their owners in the Planeview area.

This is just one more of the many ways that WAAL is trying to change animal welfare for the better.
