Please try listing your pet(s) on these website first. Adopt a Pet , Rehome Your Pet , How I Met My Dog They will help you in building a profile, teach you how to review applications and conduct a safe meeting with potential new owners. This is a really great way to save your pet the stress of moving houses and you get to pick who he/she goes to. If you list your pet(s) and have not found a new home after at least one week, then click yes and complete the surrender form to be considered for placement.
Please read the following information carefully: Admission of any animal into WAAL for rehoming is based on the animals’ health, behavior, and adoptability. Animals are admitted when foster space and financial resources are available. Animal admission is at the sole discretion of WAAL’s Executive Director and Board of Directors. In compliance with Kansas Sate Department of Agriculture ordinance, Wichita Animal Action League is not able to accept stray or abandoned animals. All stray and abandoned animals MUST be taken to the animal control facility in the county in which the animal was found to give the owner three days to reclaim their lost pet. All animals being surrendered by their owners to WAAL must be accompanied by a signed owner relinquish form and copies of any vet records. There is a surrender fee of $30 for dogs and $20 for cats, to help offset the cost of housing, feeding, and providing medical care to said animals. In the event that we are able to accept kittens or puppies from you, we reserve the right to mandate that the "parent pets" be spayed/neutered through our low-cost program or another clinic before we accept the litter. Pet overpopulation is the number one reason why pets are dying in communities across the country. Responsible ownership means pets should be spayed/neutered with very few exceptions.
